Is it true BMW will release a Hybrid in 2013, that gets 270 miles to the gallon ?

Is that the future of high mileage cars ? No more hydrogen or solar. What is the projected cost of the BMW hybrid ?|||You're probably thinking of the VW L1. Which is projected to get 280 mpg or in real world terms maybe 180 mpg. All these figures are just a day dreamers wish. The concept cars may get these uber high mileages. But in real life, these cars needs to meet very high standards to be considered a production car. Car needs to be heavier to make it safer and environment friendly. Honestly I believe these cars will get 50+ mpg on average at best. Besides it'll still be cheaper to get a regular gasoline powered car for 10k less. We may have the technology to get 100+ mpg but the car wouldn't make the car makers any profit.|||hope so because it will sell good, and people need cars like that with increasing gas prices.|||No|||Do you mean the one with Hyper drive and see-thru vision?

270 is a giant leap over the projected milestone marker of 100 MPG.|||Yes it runs on dreams.
