Does straight piping a BMW sound good or not?

I have a 2001 BMW 330i and i want to cut the muffler off and add reverberator exaust tips. Has anyone done this? Does it sound good?|||Leave in the catalytic converter/front silencer. You will be illegal if you replace that with straight pipe.

If your car has the center muffler, leave it in too.

Pipe out the rear muffler.

If your car has an exhaust flap be sure to plug the vacuum line. Don't disconnect the valve or leave the line open. If you do, the check engine light will come on.

Forget the tips. The car will BE LOUD. I've seen it done. Not something I'd want.|||That is illegal for street use and police will notice from the sound.

If you want it to be legal, then keep the catylitic converter on.

It is okay just to take the muffler off, but then it won't really be straight piping.

It will make the sound louder and still sound good.

You can see this on youtube.com|||Not good at all.

It sounds very loud but no push at all.

you will regret doing it on a BMW.It has two silencers to give performance and keeping silent.

If you can do it yourself for free, you can try it.

If you are spending money,Please save that money.|||Probabily not.. Straight pipes only sound good on a V-8. Everything else kinda sounds like a wet fart.

Unless its a V-8... DON'T

Then again, if you have a streight six in your BMW, it might not sound as bad as what a V-6 would sound like.|||it would probably sound like a fart and reduce your exhaust backpressure so much that it would actually reduce you power, just spend the bucks on a nice catback system|||this combo isnt the best but will sound moderatly well for that engine. because of the lack of engine displacement.|||No will make it sound like a school bus on steroids!|||if you can split it and go to dual exhaust, they really sound good on the six...
