How much is reasonable to pay to fit a front shock absorber to a BMW 525TD 1995
I have a new one (paid 拢50)|||To fit a new shocker on the front involves releasing the main strut from the brake assembly. It is a garage job really. You would also need a pair of spring compressors to remove the old shocker.|||I think 拢50 for a shock is perfectly reasonable - but you should always have them replaced as a pair on the front or rear, never individually.
Expect to pay another 拢50 - 拢150 to have each one fitted - there's a bit of work involved in replacing the front ones.|||Don't just do one! Always do the pair otherwise you will have uneven suspension at the front, dodgy effect on steering and braking.
Shop around, ask the quick fit type places over the phone. Some even have 0800 numbers.
BMW 525TD - Runs well on Bio diesel or straight vegetable oil (but you already knew that).
