I have a 1995 BMW 525i with cracking in the rear bumper cover. I think I could repair it - if I knew what type of plastic / rubber it is made out of! I've been searching all over the net for the answer and all get is ads for new bumpers! I need to know exactly what its made of - not generic answers like "hard plastic" or "rubber".|||Good Grief.

This is ridiculous.|||The original factory bumpers are made out of ABS plastic. Don't buy fiberglass as that stuff cracks really easily. Poly urethane is another option that is very strong.|||i think it's made out of hard plastic or rubber...
