What is bank acquisition fees in a bmw lease?

I'm about to lease a bmw, and they mentioned bank acquisition fees as being part of the initial payment. Is this different from the dealer acquisition fee? if not, isn't it supposed to be part of the Capitalized Cost of the vehicle.|||There is only one acquisition fee in a lease and it's charged by the lease company or finance company, not the dealer. Some lease companies tell their dealers to automatically include it in the Capitalized Cost, where you might not notice it if you don't look. Other lease companies, more recently, have made it an "up-front" fee and include it in your "cash due at lease inception" costs. If you really don't want to pay it up-front, the dealer can add it to your Cap Costs. For more details, see the following article:

.|||An acquisition fee is something all lessors charge. In this case, it's either BMW Financial or the bank offering the lease. This is not something the dealer tacks on. This fee is part of doing business with the lessor and cannot be negotiated. It's also a separate fee and not part of the Cap Cost.

If the dealer adds on its own acquisition fee along with the lessor's fee, walk away and don't look back. This is clearly a dealer trying to cheat you. Give your business to a dealer that will treat you fairly.|||It's a dealer-invented fee. Tell them to wave it or you'll walk.
